CONSULTANTS IN PAEDIATRICS

This is an exciting time to join the Trust, which is one of the highest performing NHS Trusts in the UK. Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty; and which is in close proximity to Leeds and York, Harrogate is an affluent town offering a very high standard of residential accommodation. There is a wide range of local schools which have an excellent national reputation in both the state and private sectors. There are numerous sporting, recreational and cultural activities available in the town or the surrounding area to suit most interests.
This excellent-rated Trust is inviting applications for a full time Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in the areas of community Paediatrics and neuro-developmental paediatrics. There is flexibility with the number of sessions for this post and it could be altered depending on the successful applicants.
The Paediatric department comprises of a 22 bedded general paediatric ward, a 10 cot SCBU, a suite of paediatric outpatient offices and a child development centre which are co-located in purpose-built modern facilities.
With this post there will be a team of 8 consultants and you will share in the service for general paediatrics and neonatal care whilst the majority of outpatient work will be in neuro-developmental paediatrics. We are active participants in regional networks of care in paediatric subspecialties and have a number of visiting tertiary paediatric consultants including a paediatric neurologist. We have a very good reputation for teaching and have fully staffed junior and middle grade rotas.
All applicants must possess Specialist Registration with the GMC or be within six months of completing a training programme recognised for the award of CCT or equivalent.
