Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
This is a replacement post based at Croydon University Hospital. The successful applicant will provide a modern and comprehensive service to the population of Croydon, South West London and Surrey. The individual will be responsible for leading and developing the Restorative Dentistry service. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to create a new contemporary service, building upon the foundations of the existing service. There is also scope for expansion within the team. In conjunction with Orthodontics and Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery, the service will be focused on highly specialised, complex treatment with multidisciplinary integrated care.
The Restorative Dentistry team is part of the Department of Hospital Dentistry, situated in Croydon University Hospital, Croydon. The team shares surgeries with Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery and Orthodontics. A new purpose built unit is currently being constructed with completion due in early 2017. There are a number of part time Specialty Doctors supporting this Consultant post. There is a well-equipped dental and maxillo-facial laboratory within the unit and also an excellent postgraduate education centre with phantom head/skills room facility.
The appointee would be required to contribute to audit, teaching and training within the department as well as reflecting the Trust’s objectives and goals. The team has dental core trainees and StRs currently but the Trust would be supportive of more specialty trainees joining the department. Research interests are encouraged as well.
The post can be up to 10 PAs, but there is flexibility to fit around other commitments of the successful applicant. There is no on call.
Applicants should hold the full registration with the UK General Dental Council (GDC) and be on the GDC Specialist Register in Restorative Dentistry or within three months of eligibility for inclusion, as well as holding the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations (ISFE) in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent.
