CONSULTANT ANAESTHETISTS based at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW

10 PA contract

We are currently looking for 2 Consultant in Anaesthetists to join our growing team of 74 Consultants.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large, dynamic university hospital which is friendly, well equipped and has an excellent reputation. The post will be based at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough with an overnight on-call frequency of 1 in 20.

The posts offer a wide range of clinical services and we encourage development of a special interest. There are options to take up a regular sessional commitment at The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, which is part of the Trust.

Currently the department has 34 regional trainees on rotation as well as Foundation doctors and the out of hours rota is maintained with trainees of all levels.

Consultant on call frequency is approximately 1:14 on the adult rota or 1:8 on the paediatric rota.

Working in the North East offers an excellent quality of life. This area boasts great transport links with easy access to a beautiful coastline/countryside and a great range of local amenities, shopping and nightlife.

Applicants should possess full GMC registration, FRCA (or equivalent) and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.

This post would suit someone looking to maintain a broad range of interests and be part of a dynamic department. We are keen to support individuals pursuing specialist interests and will discuss potential opportunities with any prospective candidates. We are particularly keen to recruit those with an interest in paediatric anaesthesia. A range of other specialty adult anaesthetic interests could be accommodated after further discussion.
