Job Description

St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the regional specialist care provider for south west London, Surrey and beyond. The trust also manages the healthcare service at HMP Wandsworth. With national and regional referrals added to our local 35m catchment, we serve a population of around 5m. Part-time Consultant Breast Radiologist – 5 PAs

Applications are invited for a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join the existing breast imaging team at St Georges Hospital, Tooting, London.
This is a replacement post for 5 PAs.

The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in breast imaging in both the screening and symptomatic settings. This includes the reporting of mammograms, breast ultrasound, MRI, stereotactic and ultrasound biopsies/wire localisations. A proven interest and track record in delivering training is encouraged.

Both the breast screening and symptomatic services are based at The Rose Centre, St Georges Hospital, Tooting. This is a purpose-built integrated unit, operational since October 2011, separate from the main St George’s Hospital site. It is a fully-equipped Full Field Digital Screening Unit with 6 FFD units - two with stereotactic capability, there are three ultrasound units.

The successful candidate would be joining a team of 8 consultant radiologists and 4 advanced practitioners. We are actively involved in training and would encourage the successful applicant to take a lead role in planning and delivering training, in conjunction with the St Georges National Breast Screening Training Centre
We actively participate in audit and research and are currently undertaking clinical trials.
