Stocksbridge Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre - near Sheffield

The centre is a specialist facility providing both long-term and short-term person-centred rehabilitation, care and support for male and female adults (aged 18+ years) with a brain injury or other complex neurological conditions.

Set high in the Pennine Hills, the town of Stocksbridge borders the Peak District National Park and is surrounded by spectacular countryside with wonderful views.

Stocksbridge Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre is located within one mile of the A616 and just five miles from the M1 motorway. Sheffield is just 14 miles away.

We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, who has the ability to work autonomously within the context of a multi-disciplinary, who will Contribute to the development and delivery of a specialist psychology service, providing neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation programmes for patients with acquired brain injury and neuropsychological disorders, on both an individual and group basis.

Job Summary

  • Providing a high quality specialist clinical Neuropsychology service, within the multidisciplinary neuro rehabilitation team
  • Designing and implementing individual behaviour modification and neuro-rehabilitation programmes
  • Contributing to the supervision of psychological therapy provided by other psychologists, including trainee, and assistant psychologists
  • Working autonomously within professional guidelines and exercising responsibility for psychological practise within a current caseload
  • Supporting and educating families and external carers in brain injury and ongoing care
  • Utilising research skills for audit, policy, service development and clinical research
  • Implementing policy changes within the neuropsychology service and the wider organisation

To join The Huntercombe Group as a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at Stocksbridge you will:-

  • Possess a post-graduate doctorate level degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Be a chartered Clinical Psychologist (or meet the criteria for chartership) and be on the HPC register of Practitioner Psychologists
  • Have eligibility for membership of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology
  • Have a proven track record of expertise in the area of neuropsychology
  • Have experience of working as a psychologist in brain injury rehabilitation or within another clinical area (demonstrating transferable knowledge, expertise and competencies relevant to neuropsychology and brain injury rehabilitation)
  • Have well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, highly technical and clinically sensitive information to patients, families and other professional colleagues
  • The ability to provide and/or identify appropriate support to carers and staff managing individuals with complex cognitive behavioural deficits
  • Have a desire to expand your professional development and support organisational change
