Consultant Clinical Psychologist - PICU
Salary: £53840 to £69000
Hours: Full time covering both Women’s and Mens PICU.

Psychologists are a highly valued asset in multi discipline working and essential to patient assessment and treatment and to support the MDT. St Andrew’s are renowned for delivering inpatient treatment to patients in medium secure, low secure and locked environments. We also have three Psychiatric Intensive Care units, one male PICU in Northampton and two units in Essex (female and male).
We are looking for an experienced Consultant Psychologist who has excellent team working skills, who are innovative and able to motivate and influence staff effectively.
Your role will be full time, but split between our Women’s and Men’s PICU wards on our Essex site. As a Consultant you will work closely with your psychology colleague in Northampton and lead on the development and implementation of the model of psychological assessment, treatment and consultation within the PICU’s. To support you in your role, you will have the provision of assistant psychologists on each ward.
You will also lead a small team of psychologists and assistant psychologists in Essex and act as the link between the Essex site and the lead psychologists for the different pathways situated in Northampton.
You will be part of a team of over twenty psychologists based in Essex, Northampton and Birmingham delivering psychological interventions for a diverse patient group in the Women’s and Men’s Mental Health Pathways. As a clinician you will be supported to develop specialist skills in clinical areas of your interest and contribute to the development and training within the psychology team and greater service.
