Applicants are invited for this permanent post. The post is due to commence in March 2017. As one of 18 Consultants across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, the successful applicant will join the South Bristol team of 4 Consultants. All consultants cover a locality and contribute to the out of hours safeguarding on-call rota. In addition special interests are encouraged.
There is a well-established programme of CPD and child protection peer review.
Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register with CCT in General Paediatrics and subspecialty for Community Paediatrics or Neurodisability (see person specification) or be within six months of obtaining it by the interview date. Full Registration with the GMC is essential. The post is based at Osprey Court, Whitchurch BS14 0BB with most clinics at Ilminster Avenue Specialist Childrens Centre BS4 1HR. Sirona has teaching status and is linked with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England and there are strong links with Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
The appointee will be required to reside not more than 30 minutes travel by road from Bristol, for Safeguarding on-call purposes. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is essential. The successful candidate will be employed under Terms & Conditions of Service for Consultants (England) 2003.
