Our Trust is looking to appoint two dynamic and enthusiastic Gastroenterology Consultant colleagues to join our existing team of 12 Gastroenterologists. You will bring a continuous focus to high performance and quality of care, working collaboratively with colleagues and providing clinical leadership to the wider team.
Our Trust is recognised as a regional London Upper GI Cancer resection centre by NHS England and has also become a standalone screening centre for Bowel Cancer. We are extremely proud of the fact that we have recently secured a place on the ground breaking scheme to transform the care we provide for patients - the Virginia Mason Institute Development Programme, which we are only one of five trusts in the UK to take part in. We are also one of eight new national Vanguard sites, which will help spearhead transformational change in urgent care
One post is a replacement post due to retirement with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease with a view to leading the IBD service is desirable.
The other post has been created to expand and improve our gastroenterology and endoscopy services. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a subspecialist interest. The preferred interests will be either EUS or bowel cancer screening although any interest will be considered from the right candidate. This post does not involve participation in the acute general medicine on-call rota
Our team provides a full range of services including IBD, nutrition, ERCP, EUS, stenting, bowel cancer screening, capsule endoscopy, laser, GI physiology and viral hepatitis treatment.
Within this role you can look forward to a professional structure where we have excellent links with the local GPs and CCGs, as well as the opportunity to work in a large and developing department with enthusiastic colleagues. There are excellent facilities for education, research & development. You will be flexible and be able to work in teams, in delivering care within the Unit.
