Consultant Geriatrician with an interest in Frailty ( 2 posts)
Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Consultant Geriatrician with a special Interest in Frailty.
The successful candidate will lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff in providing comprehensive geriatric care for their inpatients, clinic patients and for emergency admissions over the age of 75. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be committed to delivering clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with the clinical teams and commissioners.
As part of the post, the post holder will be based in the newly built and designed frailty unit located within East Surrey Hospital and will join a team of 9 consultants within the geriatric medicine department as we expand the department and develop our frailty and community services. The post holder will have responsibility for reviewing referrals directly from GPs and our emergency department, providing expert advice over the telephone and liaising with a multi-disciplinary team involved exclusively within the unit.
We are looking for applicants with a wide experience in geriatric medicine who have excellent team-working skills and the abilities and professional skills to lead service development at the Trust.
Based at East Surrey Hospital, the post-holder will be a key member of the Medical Division with a clear role in ensuring comprehensive care for geriatric patients.
This post will suit an enthusiastic Consultant who wants to deliver excellent integrated care and pioneer new services.
