Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital trusts in the country. We provide a full range of services to more than 650,000 people across Portsmouth, South East Hampshire and West Sussex. Most services are provided at Queen Alexandra Hospital but we also offer a range of outpatient and diagnostic facilities closer to patients’ homes. We handle around 130,000 Emergency Department admissions a year and have the busiest maternity department on the South Coast. The Trust employs around 6,000 staff and is the second largest employer in Portsmouth.
The Trust’s vision is to be the best hospital, provide the best care by employing the best people and to ensure our patients are the centre of all that we do. If you share the same values as Portsmouth Hospitals; Respect & Dignity, Quality of Care, Working Together and Efficiency we want you to work for us.
Applications are invited for enthusiastic Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join a cohesive, friendly and supportive team at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.
The appointments will fill one consultant vacancy and then strengthen and further expand the existing complement of a team of 1315 WTE with additional sessions from three Nurse Consultants and Paediatric colleagues.
These appointments will be in addition to the current consultant numbers and represent a commitment from the Trust to develop a 7 day service in the Emergency Department.
