Be a part of the transformation of Emergency and Urgent Care in Rotherham.
Consultants in Emergency Medicine.
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) is a clinically progressive integrated organisation, which is focused on the provision of high standards of care and the delivery of strong performance against local and national outcomes.
We are revolutionising the way emergency care is delivered to the people of Rotherham with the building of a new Emergency Centre (EC) incorporating Rotherham’s existing Emergency Department (ED) with the GPs’s out-of-hours service and the local Walk-In-Centre (WIC).
The ED is seeking to increase its consultant establishment by engaging three highly motivated and progressive individuals to join the seven already in the department. This will help improve the emergency care given to the population of Rotherham by facilitating consultant delivered care sixteen hours a day, seven days a week. Including these advertised posts, the ED will compromise of 10 ED Consultants, 3 Specialty Registrars, 45 Specialty doctors, 05 Simulation fellow and 12 core and foundation training doctors.
Construction on the new £12 million Emergency Centre is underway. In addition to having all the acute facilities expected of a new ED department, its design will enable the integration of the WIC and GPs’ out-of-hours service, bringing all emergency care under one roof. With the complete integration of these services expected in 2017, our attendances are expected to reach in excess of 100,000, inclusive of both adults and paediatrics.
As well as co-locating the services, the redevelopment of emergency services will also include an innovative working model in which patients will be streamed to the clinician with the most appropriate skills -- “Right care, first time” -- with ED physicians, GPs, Emergency Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Nurse Practitioners all working together as an integrated team.
