Consultant Orthodontist

Applications are invited for this replacement, full time, (10 programmed activities) post. It is based at Bristol Dental Hospital and School, with a one day rotation to Weston General Hospital. The post will particularly suit an orthodontist with an interest in multidisciplinary care; in particular the management of facial deformity. The successful candidate will join an established team of Orthodontic and Paediatric consultants, within the department of Child Dental Health.

The Orthodontic department provides a primary, secondary and tertiary service to the regional population. The successful candidate will be required to treat complex malocclusions, requiring multidisciplinary input. The successful candidate will also be involved in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Applicants must have full and specialist registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC) in Orthodontics. They would also require Membership in Orthodontics, and successful completion of an SAC-approved, 2 year minimum Senior StR training programme in Orthodontics (or equivalent) or within 6 months of completion.

The Trust has teaching status and is linked with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. Experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent is essential. The successful candidate will be employed under Terms & Conditions of Service for Consultants (England) 2003.
