The palliative care service is looking to recruit consultants into whole time or part-time posts with the intention to create a team of 6 consultants each with a team role, locality responsibilities, and special interests. We are keen to work with friendly enthusiastic people who would relish the challenge of developing excellent palliative care services within a strong, cohesive and supportive team.
Successful applicants will have potential for developing special interests within the post in line with the local clinical strategy. The existing consultants would wish to discuss and agree job plans to suit the preferences and expertise of new members of the team.
This is an exciting time to join the Trust as the post holder/s will be joining an expanding dynamic service with existing consultants and a fantastic team of experienced Macmillan Specialist Nurses, a nurse consultant and a Macmillan Palliative care support team. The service encompasses acute inpatient activity hospital and community work and hospice support. The successful post holder will work alongside our key partners across County Durham and Darlington to build on a strong platform of quality palliative care and exploit the opportunities that exist to develop existing and new services.
