Applications are invited for an enthusiastic Consultant Mammographer to join the existing team at Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust.
This is a new post offering the successful applicant the opportunity to specialise inadvanced practice within the Breast Service at KGH supporting the Consultant and Radiographic team
Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an Acute District Hospital providing a service to approximately 340,000 people with 560 beds. Our pro-active Breast Imaging Department provides both symptomatic and NHSBSP screening services to the local population from a purpose built integrated unit. Our screening population is approximately 55,000 and we currently provide 5 one-stop rapid diagnosis symptomatic clinics per week.
We have two static digital mammography units and one ultrasound suite, although we have plans to expand our ultrasound capacity with a second room later this year. We also have one mobile screening unit.
We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of breast imaging and perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography as a first line diagnostic imaging tool in the one-stop setting. We also perform Digital Breast Tomosynthesis for symptomatic women and for screening assessment. We currently undertake approx100 vacuum assisted biopsies per annum and provide breast MRI imaging for approx130 women, all of which are double reported.
