Consultant Neurophysiology

The new Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist will be required to work as part of a team, providing clinical Neurophysiology services in the Essex Neurosciences Centre at Queens Hospital.

The appointee will be expected to:

  • Have a broad experience in all areas of the speciality; including electromyography, evoked potentials and electroencephalography and the ability to share intraoperative evoked potential monitoring (mainly for neurosurgery) and video telemetry EEG reporting (in both adults and children).

  • Have appropriate academic qualifications and a research record.

  • Have the ability to work as a member of a team together with Clinical Neurophysiologists, Clinicians, Technologists, Clinical Scientists, Nursing, Managerial and Secretarial staff.

  • Maintain full registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register in Clinical Neurophysiology.

It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have an interest in contributing to the developing provision of a specialist clinical service related to neurophysiology (e.g. Epilepsy, neuro-muscular disorders or Botulinum Toxin).

The timetable will allow flexibility between the three Consultant Neurophysiologists and also scope for the postholder to develop his/her specialist interests.

There are also opportunities for research. Mentorship is available for the new consultant within Neurosciences.
