Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery -Lower Limb Surgeon
Exciting developments have been taking place at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and we believe that we can offer Consultants an excellent professional environment.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated organisation. The acute services at the Royal Bolton and Bolton’s community services work closely together to provide healthcare across the Bolton Health Care Economy and beyond. There is great opportunity to be part of the redesign of the end to end patient pathway for all Orthopaedic patients with the development of the Orthopaedic Interface Service.
Now you can be part of it, contributing to the continued development of the department, whilst handling a challenging but manageable caseload. The patient pathway will provide a streamlined service for both surgical and non surgical conditions with early expert opinion.
Our main theatre suite has 4 laminar flow Orthopaedic theatres. Our day care facility has 2 general anaesthetic theatres and a treatment room. The Orthopaedic unit has a dedicated out-patient department at the hospital with its own x-ray facility and also provides an elective outpatient service at the new build, Bolton One in the town centre. We also boast an internationally renowned Trauma Stabilisation Unit (TSU) and have a protected elective ward.
Within Orthopaedics, we have established a centre of excellence, with a group of ten Consultants who provide a general service and appropriate specialisation in key areas. We would expect you to have a special interest in lower limb surgery with extensive experience in arthroplasty and soft tissue conditions of the knee, hip arthroplasty (including fractures) as well as general and subspeciality trauma.
