Consultant Physician in Stroke Medicine
We are looking to appoint a 4th Consultant in Stroke Medicine to be part of an already established Consultant team as we continue to expand our Hyper acute stroke services . Successful recruitment to this post will support the team in providing a 7 day specialist service.
Watford General Hospital is the primary stroke centre for West Hertfordshire, providing all levels of stroke care. We provide a full 24/7 Thrombolysis service via a telemedicine link within the East of England region. We are an Associated University Hospital active in the education of undergraduate students attached to the stroke service. The Stroke Service participates in the Thames Stroke Research Network and enrols patients into several multi-centre trials with the help of a dedicated research nurse.
The provision of full hyper-acute stroke services at Watford General Hospital is fully supported by our local commissioners and our Trust Board.
Watford is 18 miles or 15 minutes by fast train from London and all its attractions, academic and otherwise, and is on the edge of attractive countryside in the Chilterns.
