We invite applicants for the position of Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Northampton General Hospital.
The job covers all aspects of specialty care as well as General Medicineand is an opportunity to further develop acute specialty pathways to improve the quality of care for patients with diabetes form arrival on the Emergency assessment unit through to the community.
Responsibilities will be shared between 3 other full-time and one part-time consultant and the unit works collaboratively with the experienced team of Diabetes specialist nurses
There will be the opportunity to act as pump lead for the service and develop the service with community diabetesdepending on the strengths of the applicant.
Northampton is a large DGH with all relevant associated specialties represented. These include on-site dialysis unit and regional vascular services, as well as excellent ophthalmology support and radiology services, including radio-iodine treatment provided by the regional oncology service.
The Department of Medicine has the full range of specialties and all consultants take part in the acute medicine on call, The urgent care directorate is constantly looking to improve the quality of care and specialty input for all patients.
