Exciting opportunity

The Derby and Southern Derbyshire CAMHS service has been awarded as ‘’outstanding ‘’in the recent quality inspection by CQC.

CAMHS is part of the National Children and Young People’s improving access to Psychological therapies (IAPT) Project. This is a significant Service Transformation Project for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. The Transformation involves, working in partnership with children and young people, improve the workforce through training in best evidence based practice and provide evidence based pathways across CAMHS and Children and Young People Services, development of mechanisms to support session by session outcome monitoring, improve access to psychological therapies across the children’s and young people’s services (considering self-referral mechanisms into CAMHS), workforce development through training in RCT validated techniques, enhance supervision and monitoring of outcomes and optimize local flexibility and build on local relationships. As part of the ongoing service transformation, the service is now moving to a service pathway model that will enable children and young people to receive the right service, at the right time and place and in line with best evidence base practice.As part of this exciting development a full-time NHS Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist are required to clinical lead the Complex Mental Health Service Pathway.

The role will be based at Temple House with occasional clinics in Derbyshire. It is envisaged the 10 sessions would be worked over five days. However there is also opportunity for flexible hours including part-time hours.

This post offers a varied job working closely with the multidisciplinary team. We put a high emphasis on quality of care, peer support and on clinical engagement in service development and management.

DBS Check

The cost of undertaking a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service formerly known as CRB) disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure which will be deducted from your first month’s salary. The current price of a standard check is £26 and an enhanced check is £44.
