We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist within Older People’s Mental Health Services, based in Rotherham. The Trust provides a comprehensive adult, child, older adult, intellectual disabled, forensic and substance misuse mental health service to Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire. It also provides Community Services in Doncaster and an Early Intervention service to Central Manchester.
This is a full time post in Older Adult Psychiatry, covering both acute inpatient and community work.
The post holder will be expected to provide a psychiatric service for patients on the Woodlands Inpatient Unit, and support the multi-professional team to determine need and deliver care across the range of community and care settings served by the Howarth House mental health teams. This post covers the Central Sector which has a population of 17,000 people over 65 years of age in a mixture of inner city deprived and rural and affluent areas. The Central Sector has a dedicated integrated Community Mental Health Team, alongside memory services, care home and hospital liaison and dementia outreach.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Older Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT and be approved/eligible for approval for Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician Status, with evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working.
