Applications are invited for a full time Consultant Radiologist post at Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust/ Bolton Breast Unit.
The successful applicant will join a team of 14 Consultant Radiologists and 3 Radiology trainees.
The post is for a General Radiologist with subspecialty interest in Breast Imaging.
The Bolton Breast Unit is on site and offers a fully digital screening (NHSBSP) and symptomatic service, including Vacuum biopsies/excisions as well as Breast MR for screening and symptomatic services including high risk women. The Breast Unit benefits from excellent relationships with our breast surgeons and pathologists forming a strong multidisciplinary team-working approach.
The Radiology Department provides a wide range of diagnostic services (CT, MRI, Ultrasonography, Fluoroscopy, Plain Film), as well as Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
Participation in the on call rota will be expected and this is currently on a basis of 1: 12, supported by outsourced imaging (Nighthawk) during the hours of 2100 till 0800, seven days a week.
Hours per week : 40 (10 Programmed Activities of which 75 will consist of Direct Clinical Care (4 in Breast, 1 for on-call) and 25 Supporting Professional Activity).
Applicants must have: full registration with the GMC; FRCR (or equivalent); and either be eligible for inclusion on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the date of interview.
