CONSULTANT RADIOLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited for 1 General Consultant Radiologist to join our Imaging Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post is a replacement post .
We require a general radiologist who can report a wide range of cross sectional imaging including oncology scans as there is an active oncology presence here in Chesterfield. The post holder would also be expected to contribute to general ultrasound and plain film reporting. Once in post, the successful candidate would be encouraged to develop a subspecialist interest, and areas where there are opportunities for development include chest, cardiac, gynaecology, head and neck imaging including neck ultrasound and paediatrics. The successful candidate will join a flexible and enthusiastic team of 96 WTE radiologists in a forward thinking department. There is established role extension within the department with training taking place for reporting radiographers, and the post holder will be actively involved in supporting this initiative. In addition there are speciality trainees from Nottingham. The post is for 10 PAs per week, which includes 15 PAs for SPA time.
On call commitment will be 1:9 with this post, and scans are outsourced to teleradiology 930pm – 7am 7 days a week.
The trust is part of the EMRAD PACS project, an East Midlands scheme designed to improve and develop collaborative working across the region.
