Applications are invited for the appointment of one full-time Consultant Rheumatologist. The successful candidate will join 2 full time and a Part time Consultant colleagues to help deliver a high quality service to the local population. You will be contracted to deliver services in all three sites as well in the community as a part our new concept Community Rheumatology. The Rheumatology team consists of 45 Rheumatology Specialist Nurses,1 Specialist Registrar and 3 Junior trainee doctors, a dedicated therapy department and inpatient service. There is a dedicated Rheumatology ward which is primarily used as Day ward for procedures including various infusions and the inpatient beds are available at Wrightington site/Wigan site for acutely ill patients.
The post comprises of 10PA’s and job plan is devised for activity across the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wrightington, and Leigh site and in the community and is subject to review during job planning. Applicants must have obtained the MRCP or equivalent. Applicants must be fully registered in the U.K General Medical Councils Specialist Register. Specialist Registrars may apply if within six-months of CCT at the date of interview. Applicants for full/ part time or Job Share are welcome to apply.
The appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records disclosure for the successful candidate prior to commencement.
