Consultant Opportunity in Medicine

Salisbury Foundation Trust is looking for a Consultant Stroke Physician

This will be a new post to complement two existing Consultants in Stroke Medicine. You will be expected to take an active role in the running and development of our stroke service. The Trust provides a 24 hour stroke thrombolysis service and has a 7 day TIA clinic with same day access to brain and carotid imaging. We have good relations with the Neurointervention team based in SouthamptonGeneralHospital. The stroke unit is a mixed hyperacute, acute and rehabilitation unit.

Stroke Medicine is part of the Department of Medicine for Elderly which is undergoing a major expansion. There is a strong emphasis on teaching and training and there will be opportunity to participate in Stroke Research.

We need a flexible, autonomous clinician who can provide leadership to an evolving service.

You should be fully licensed and registered with the GMC and be on the specialist register for General Medicine (and preferably stroke) or within 6 months of achieving this.
