Sussex Vascular Network

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust is a regional Teaching Hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the South East of England.

We seek 2 Vascular Surgeons who are well trained in all aspects of vascular intervention, to complement the 8 already in post. The Sussex Vascular Network, with the Hub at Brighton, covers a catchment population of over 16 million. The post holders will have duties at the Hub in Brighton and in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust covering Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital, Hastings.

At the Hub, there will be a 1:10 on call commitment and fortnightly all day arterial operating lists, with additional endovascular operating lists available in the Hybrid Operating Suite, and participation in the weekly Network Multidisciplinary Team meetings. In the Spoke Hospitals there will be a commitment to provision of both out-patient and inpatient care, offering support to other specialities, and weekly day case operating lists for open and minimally invasive varicose vein treatments.

It is expected that the appointees will actively participate in both undergraduate and post graduate teaching.
