I recently started my employment in April 2010. Previously I was employed as a banqueting Chef for a local conference Hotel. I have 20 years experience as a top rated chef, working in top class hotels / banqueting / conference facilities, but I had never experienced work in the care industry and was looking for a new challenge.
I had to adjust initially to the amount of covers I prepared on a daily basis due to a smaller client ration – I was use to preparing up to 300 meals daily which is reduced to around on average 30 each meal time. I was given the opportunity to transform the menu for our client group and have adapted menus to best suit all our clients.
I have recently been nominated for the chef of the year contest and am awaiting further news on this event, I have also been fully involved in the coordination and preparation for the homes official open day which was attended by government representatives I have also planned and prepared for a further three ‘fun days’ held at the home.
Each day brings new challenges and I can say that this position has proved to be my best working experience.
