Job Description

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital trusts in the country. We provide a full range of services to more than 650,000 people across Portsmouth, South East Hampshire and West Sussex. Most services are provided at Queen Alexandra Hospital but we also offer a range of outpatient and diagnostic facilities closer to patients’ homes. We handle around 130,000 Emergency Department admissions a year and have the busiest maternity department on the South Coast. The MRI/CT department at the Queen Alexandra hospital is a dynamic vibrant and progressive department and we currently have vacancies for radiographers who are enthusiastic, positive with a caring attitude to join our rapidly expanding department.

Potential candidates should have:

  • Significant post qualification experience and training in CT and/or MRI
  • BSc (Hons) degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Current state registration certificate

The Department

The department has the benefit of cutting edge CT and MRI technology and provides staff with the exciting opportunity to work with the latest Toshiba Aquilion One CT scanner and 3T MRI technology in a clinical setting. The department is equipped with 3 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners with all staff encouraged to rotate through both modalities.

We are a busy, progressive unit, with a very friendly and caring atmosphere, currently operating a 12 shift system over 7 days.

Queen Alexandra Hospital is a multidiscipline hospital and offers a full clinical range of examinations and experience, and is a leading center for head and neck cancers, renal patients with a hyper-acute emergency department.
