This is an exciting opportunity to work for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as Nursery Manager in our busy day nursery on-site at Salisbury District Hospital.

Toy Box Day Nursery has 104 places each day for babies and children aged from 3 months to 5 years old. The nursery offers places to staff employed by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and private families from the local area.

The role requires a full and relevant Level 3 qualification and an Early Years Degree/ Foundation Degree with the intention of completing a full degree)/ Early Years Teacher Status.

A minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience is needed, of which at least two years must have been in a recent management role within a day nursery setting.

The successful applicant will have strong and competent management skills, excellent team building skills and in depth knowledge of daily nursery operational and working practice. Great organisational and planning skills will be essential to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.

Exceptional communication and people management skills are key as the manager will lead a team of 37 staff, liaise closely with parents and work in partnership with internal departments, outside agencies and other professionals.

Thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted requirements is essential, alongside good working knowledge of safeguarding children procedures and practice.

Excellent working practice with children will go hand in hand with a good working knowledge of child development; including a full understanding of how babies and young children learn and develop to enable all children reach their full potential.

Salary £31,000 per annum

Hours – Between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks per year
