Job Description

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Opportunities have arisen for registered dental nurses within our small, friendly and enthusiastic Outpatient team. The team is unique in its construction,
fusing Dental & general nursing as a cohesive team. We are dedicated to giving a high standard of care to patients receiving Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry in our very interesting outpatient department.
The successful applicant will be working in collaboration with both registered dental & registered general nurses in an environment that is busy & diverse. Applicants should be flexible, well organised with a professional friendly manner & have excellent communication skills. They should be able to use their own judgement to resolve issues, and have a tactful, sensitive approach to dealing with occasionally difficult situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements.

Post registration qualification in either radiography or conscious sedation would be desirable however this should not deter applicants who do not have this specific experience as support and training will be given.

We have both full and part-time opportunities available working in our Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgery, Orthodontics & Restorative Dentistry Outpatients Department at the John Radcliffe as well as a one-year fixed term full-time contract to cover maternity leave.
