Job Description

QEHB provides direct clinical services to nearly 900,000 patients every year, serving a regional, national and international population. We are a regional centre for cancer, trauma, renal dialysis, burns and plastics and have the largest solid organ transplantation programme in Europe. The Trust has the largest kidney programme in the UK and is a major specialist centre for burns and plastic surgery.

We provide a series of highly specialist cardiac, liver, oncology and neurosurgery services to patients from across the UK.

We are world-renowned for our trauma care and have developed pioneering surgical techniques in the management of ballistic and blast injuries, including bespoke surgical solutions for previously unseen injuries. As a result of its clinical expertise in treating trauma patients and military casualties, QEHB has been designated both a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK’s only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).

The Deputy Associate Director of Nursing role is vital in supporting the Associate Director of Nursing to deliver the best quality of care to patients within Division D.

They will be an active member of the Divisional Management Team, deputise for the Divisional Associate Director of Nursing, to ensure both operational and quality agendas are achieved and maintained, and will demonstrate highly developed leadership and management skills to enable delivery of Divisional and Trust priorities.

This role requires a dynamic, innovative, confident nurse leader who is prepared to explore and influence nursing practice and service delivery by utilising excellent leadership and advanced communication skills.

The ability to challenge and empower in order to influence practice is essential, as is a passion for high quality patient care.

You will need to be self-motivated, driven to achieve, and have extensive operational and leadership experience.
