Job Description

Deputy Home Manager : Abbeyfield Pratt House : Amersham

Salary - £26000 to £27000 per annum

Hours of Work : 35 hours per week working alternate weekends with a flexible rota.

Abbeyfield are a not for profit organisation and we are proud to be celebrating our 60th Year of making time for older people.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Home Manager to support our Care Home in Amersham.

Pratt House is home to 29 residents who all have single rooms with en suite facilities. The Care home has an excellent reputation locally. We have also just had a comprehensive inspection with the Care Quality Commission which has resulted in a Good rating across all 5 Key Lines of Enquiry. The Deputy Manager will be required to support work to build on the good standards of care that are already evident and support plans to improve and develop service provision.

We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is professional, confident and knowledgeable in running a specialised Care Home for older people.

It is an essential requirement that you have previous working experience of managing an effective staff team. Along with managing staff rotas to ensure appropriate cover is provided at all times along with monitoring staff performance to ensure a high quality service is delivered. Experience of developing, monitoring and reviewing resident and staff files is also essential ensuring all Abbeyfield policies and procedures and regulations are strictly followed at all times. Along with experience of working to a budget, staff recruitment and staff supervisions and partaking in team meetings. Excellent knowledge of Health and safety requirements in the home and working along- side external agencies, families, colleagues and care managers.

Ideally you would have already achieved your relevant Diploma in health and social care or working towards this; however as a minimum you will need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
