Job Description

Break in to prison healthcare!
HMP Wealstun is a Cat C training prison for prisoners serving 1-4 years, with an operational capacity of 832. There is no in-patient unit but has 10 wings throughout the prison. Care UK began delivering NHS healthcare services at HMP Wealstun on 1st April 2016.

We are now looking for a Deputy Head of Healthcare to come and join our team at HMP Wealstun.

As the Deputy Head of Healthcare you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of all clinical services across the prison. You will manage all service level agreements, ensuring performance-monitoring standards are adhered to and the highest standards of care are maintained. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with the essential standards of quality and safety.
As the Deputy Head of Healthcare, you will also deputise for the Head of Healthcare in their absence and support them across the range of their duties.

About you:
RGN/RN or RMN level 1 with a valid NMC pin ILS and independent prescribing qualification are highly desirable. You will be able to provide evidence of your leadership ability and have undertaken management training.

Further job information:
This is a full-time role, working 375 hours per week. The salary for this role is £36,000 - £40,000 per annum - dependent on experience.
