Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN) - Dementia Nursing Home - Birmingham, West Midlands - £17.50 per hour

Working Hours: 44 hours per week

I am presently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join this elderly and dementia nursing home as Deputy Home Manager. Split over two floors, the ground floor has one residential and one low dependency unit. My client is part of one of the country's leading and award winning healthcare groups. They are looking for an experienced and hands-on Deputy Home Manager (RGN/RMN) to join their team at this elderly nursing home in Birmingham. The service provides end of life, palliative and respite care to elderly residents who all have a diagnosis of dementia.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the units at this elderly and dementia nursing home. All of the residents have a dementia diagnosis and the home is split into four units based on the severity and advancement of the illness. Upstairs the two units care for residents with more advanced dementia and challenging behaviour. The home is a fast paced environment and the ideal individual will have experience working with dementia sufferers. You will also require a high level of clinical skills, but the patience and perseverance which is necessary when working within memory services.

The role of the Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN) is:

•Deliver the highest standards of care with dignity and respect
•Develop, review and update care plans
•Comply with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines
•Ensure medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered
•Ensure all relevant policies and procedures are read, understood are adhered to by all staff.
•Provide clinical leadership & supervision for the healthcare staff
•Participate in the induction and training of all new staff on the unit
•Supervise and monitor standards of care and take appropriate action to improve standards when required
•Ensure all clinical documentation is well maintained and filed in the appropriate places

As a Deputy Manager (RGN/RMN) you will have:

•Experience in a similar setting (hospital or nursing home)
•A general or mental health nursing qualification (RGN/RMN)
•Current registration with the NMC
•The legal right to work in the UK
