Job Description

Deputy Nursing Manager role @ £37k - Preston Nursing Home

My client is looking to recruit a professional and motivated Deputy Nursing Manager (RMN-qualified with 3 years minimum experience and valid UK NMC pin) to join their management team to lead and develop the nursing and care team at the home.

In this role, you will be supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home, specifically showing your passion for and commitment to delivering the highest standard of nursing care possible to the 67 service users within the facility.

The home accepts admissions from those aged 40+ suffering from a variety of complex mental health conditions such as challenging behaviour, paranoid schizophrenia, manic depression and Parkinson's. The home was rated 'Good' in all areas in its most recent CQC inspection, and has a strong reputation in the local area for quality care provision for all residents.

To be considered, you MUST be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to manage, coach and develop staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to monitor and maintain clinical standards
  • Up to date clinical skills and promotion of evidenced based practice
  • Ability to manage your workload
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements, DoLS and MCA

Duties of the role will include:

  • Working alongside and reporting to the Home Manager, and acting up in their absence when appropriate
  • Leading a team of and ensuring they achieve high standards of care at all times
  • Maintaining an open and honest communication style, and appropriately escalating any issues
  • Developing and implementing bespoke care plans for residents
  • Being aware of and adhering to relevant legislations, guidelines and procedures by means of protecting residents' welfare
  • Performing on-call duties as and when appropriate
  • Supervising junior and new members of nursing staff in all aspects of their clinical work
