Job Description

Zentar UK is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Deputy Ward Manager to work in the Oncology division of our client.

Our client is the UK's largest independently owned not for profit hospital, consisting of over 250 patient beds and 12 operating theatres including dedicated endoscopy suites, a day surgery unit and an 14 bedded Intensive Care Unit.

Job Summary:
This position will have nursing responsibility for leading, developing, implementing and evaluating innovative and efficient models of care management for patients. This will be for patient within the outpatient setting receiving cancer treatment for both haematology oncology related malignancies as well as medical oncology.

Professional/ Clinical:

•The post holder will be responsible for the overall organisation and management of the 23 bay outpatient department.

•Maintain a clinical commitment aligned to patient needs.

•Provide senior professional advice to other members of the MDT, patients and carers.

•Support the running of the Acute Oncology Service and work closely with the inpatient teams including the Critical Care Unit Outreach team in identifying those patients at risk.

•Responsible for maintaining and enhancing professional standards of care across the spectrum of oncology.

•Lead the development of initiatives and strategies utilising a high degree of personal autonomy.

•Advise and support colleagues at an individual, team and organisational level by utilisation of their advanced knowledge and skill.

•Provide senior nursing practice, exercising a high degree of specialist professional judgement.
