The Trust is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South West London and more specialist mental health services for people throughout the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop the Dietetic service within South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust. You will directly manage a B6 Dietitian in Local Services, with potential for setting up a new Dietetic Assistant post. You will provide professional support for Dietitians working in our Specialist Eating Disorders Services.

The post holder’s clinical area will be in Local Services (primarily adult admission, older people admission, forensic & rehabilitation wards). The post holder will provide advice on professional & clinical governance issues, including the development of Trust wide policies, and providing dietetic advice for catering contracts

The successful applicant will have:

A Degree / Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics
HPC registration
Leadership & team building skills with excellent communication skills
Experience of developing Dietetic services
Experience of working with mental health service users
Experience of MDT working
Motivational Interviewing / Behaviour Change skills
Knowledge of evidence based practice & outcome measure application
IT skills ( electronic clinical records)

The post holder will be based at Springfield Hospital, London SW17, but is expected to travel to other Trust sites as necessary.

South West London and St Georges MH Trust operates probationary periods. All new non-medical employees will be subject to this period, the length of which is dependent on the grade of the position (3 months for AfC bands 1-4, and 6 months for AfC bands 5+). During this time, you will be provided with SMART objectives, clarity of expectations and the development and support needed to achieve these and help you to settle into your new role with us.. This period will also provide you with the opportunity to assess us and whether we are the right organisation for you.
