Are you interested in joining an innovative, high profile and dynamic dietetic team of over 60 staff?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian to join Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The dietetic team consists of 51 Dietitians, 5 dietetic assistants and 7 admin staff across 3 hospital sites and Sheffield community. STH is one of the largest Trusts in the country.

There are 7x band 5 posts which rotate between the hospital sites as well as a community post, to enable you to gain a broad experience of acute teaching hospital and community settings. Your clinical commitments in the acute will be a variety of medical, surgical or oncology wards and we regularly review the areas to help you develop your clinical skills. There will also be an outpatient clinic per week as well as teaching sessions. The community rotation includes dietetic provision to a short-term residential and rehabilitation unit for 30 patients on specialist stroke or orthopaedic wards, as well as home visits for Active Recovery, community clinics, patient groups and training. We are actively involved in dietetic student training.

Each site is divided into teams to enable cover for periods of absence and gives you the opportunity and support gained from clinical supervision.

Applicants will possess BSc Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent) and be HCPC registered. Excellent communication skills and effective team working skills are essential.

CPD is actively encouraged, with opportunities to attend accredited post registration courses and in-house training.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.
