We are looking for a District Nurse to join our highly supportive fully mobilised community nursing team operating across Runnymede & Elmbridge and based at Walton on Thames and Chertsey. You will nurture and develop your team of community nurses who provide care for adults with a wide variety of conditions and deal with a more complex caseload yourself.
We like to be at the forefront of what we do so we operate in a Total Mobile environment where every clinician has a tablet meaning we’ve done away with paper so we’re fully electronic.
The role will make a huge difference to people’s lives in the community and will call on a diverse range of clinical skills:
Staff management , leadership and mentoring
Clinical Supervision and Peer Review
Effective working across multidisciplinary services
Manage any potential complex or conflicting perspectives of choice of care
Administration of medications
General patient assessments, triaging referrals and caseload management.
Management of complex conditions to allow patients to remain in their homes and prevent unnecessary admission to hospital.
The qualities we are looking for in our District Nurse positions are:
Specialist Practitioner Degree in District Nursing
Up to date 1st level NMC registration
Openness to working within a community setting and providing care for a diverse range of patients with a variety of complex conditions
Desire to undertake further training as appropriate
Ability to provide nursing care in a sensitive and professional manner, using a range of communication skills that meets the needs of the patients and carers
Nurse prescriber (V100)
Flexible approach to work with the ability to work across a seven day week rota that covers the hours of 9-5pm
Have access and use of own car with ability to work across different locations
