Experienced Staff Nurse

Job Description

Experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse

International and Private Patients (IPP) Services

Experienced Staff Nurse- Mixed Specialty Paediatrics

International nurses programme

As part of our planned growth, IPP is seeking experienced nurses to join an established and vibrant team. Join us to nurse patients from different backgrounds and cultures whilst being provided with the options to experience a wide range of clinical specialties, including Neurosciences, Neurosurgey, Craniofacial, Gastroeneterology, Haematology, Oncology, BMT, Immunology, Gene therapy…the list goes on but it’s all under one roof – in IPP. Our patients vary in complexity and acuity, ranging from day case to high dependency care; you will develop an impressive repertoire of clinical and leadership skills.

Once here, you will be allocated a mentor as well as provided with support from an in house education team including senior support nurses. These staff will work alongside you, where required, helping you gain competence and confidence. You will take part in bespoke developmental programmes, including options, if you wish, to rotate across all areas/specialties within IPP. There are opportunities to participate in overseas teaching programmes as well as benefit from a plethora of training opportunities – locally, Trust wide and beyond. We’ll also provide a structured developmental pathway to assist with your progression from band 5 to band 6.

We are recruiting to:

  • Butterfly Ward: Predominantly Haematology/Oncology/BMT/Immunology/Gene Therapy
  • Bumblebee ward: Mixed specialty: Mixed specialty Medicine/Surgery
  • Caterpillar Outpatients

For international nurses, while applying for your NMC registration you will work as a Health Care Assistant/ Associate Practitioner until NMC registered after which you will automatically transition to a qualified Nurse position. There are opportunities for rotation across IPP if preferred.

Contact Laura Graham ( Email address removed ) if you’d like to talk to or visit us.

Interviews will be arranged every fortnight.

Please be advised that:

The closing date given is a guide only. There may be some occasions where we have to close a vacancy once sufficient applications have been received. It is therefore advisable that you submit your application as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Only those candidates who clearly demonstrate how they meet the person specification criteria for this post will be shortlisted. Please note that where high volumes of applicants have been received, additional criteria may on occasion be used to determine the final shortlist.

Please also note that all recruitment is currently subject to restrictions on the allocation of Certificates of Sponsorship.

We are an accredited Living Wage Employer.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
