Duchy Hospital / Bodmin Treatment Centre


SPINAL SERVICE. (Band 8a equivalent)

30 hours per week.

We are looking to recruit an Extended Scope Practitioner to join our Spinal Service Team. This is a developing service which has been expanding rapidly in Devon and Cornwall and led by a South West Regional ESP Lead. The role may involve work across both Ramsay sites - Duchy Hospital (Truro) and Bodmin Treatment Centre. Pay will be equivalent to Band 8a (experience dependent).

Essential criteria:

  • Physiotherapy or nursing degree
  • At least 5 years post graduate experience
  • Professional registration
  • Experience working in an outpatient setting assessing patients with musculoskeletal spinal problems
  • Working in (or towards) an Extended Scope Role
  • Knowledge of indication for further tests and investigation
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and have excellent communication skills
  • Prepared to work flexibly between Duchy and Bodmin treatment centre

Desirable criteria

  • Up to date IR(ME)R training completed,
  • Specialist spinal knowledge.
  • Experience liaising with a spinal surgeon for appropriate onward referral.
  • Experience working as an autonomous practitioner.
