You are invited to apply for a position as a Trust F2 LAS within the Ceredigion division of Hywel Dda University Health Board from August 2016 for up to 12 months. The post will consist of three 4 month rotations throughout varying specialities.
The successful candidate will form part of a clinical team working closely with other members in the specialty.
The post offers excellent opportunities to gain valuable experience in busy and supportive departments. Where there is an opportunity to rotate into different specialties within the 4 sites to gain additional training.

Full GMC registration, completion Foundation Programme Year 1 essential, completion of Foundation Year 2 desirable.

Bronglais General Hospital is a 165 bed acute hospital that currently serves a core population of 125,000 in a geographically large and sparsely populated area. The summertime population approximately doubles due to the influx of holidaymakers and there are also a large number of university students based in Aberystwyth. Furthermore, approximately 70,000 permanent residents live in areas equidistant from Bronglais and other acute care sites, in areas to which enhanced outreach is planned as part of future development of services.

The town offers a variety of places to enjoy, from the hills and stunning beaches to a pier, castle ruins and a harbour. Overseas applicants should demonstrate a breadth and depth of experience comparable to that obtainable in the UK. Previous NHS Experience is desirable, but not essential. The Postgraduate Department has a fully developed programme of guest lectures, lunchtime and afternoon meetings, including special interest groups and co-ordinated intra-practice activities and career counselling. The library offers a wide ranging book collection, with interlibrary lending network, excellent IT facilities audio-visual and conferencing equipment.

Professor Keir Lewis has been recently appointed as the Chair of Respiratory Medicine in Hywel Dda with further appointments for the future, which will significantly increase the already very active research portfolio within the health board.
