The Huntercombe Hospital - Maidenhead

The hospital is a 60 bed Tier 4 CAMHS hospital for young people aged 12 -25 years with a range of mental health disorders including eating disorders and complex needs.

We provide comprehensive assessment and treatment programmes working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers.

On the hospital site there is a purpose-built 29 bed psychiatric intensive care service (PICU) for patients with severe mental Illness who require very specialist and intensive treatment. The 20 bed eating disorders service is housed separately in the original Manor House.

The hospital is located approximately 1 mile from junction 7 of the M4 motorway.

This exciting and dynamic role will place you at the heart of a clinical team, working closely with patients and other healthcare professionals.

We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced Family Therapist with the ability to work autonomously within the context of a multi-disciplinary team approach and undertake specific clinical work with patients and their families in response to clinical needs, in a way which coheres with the overall treatment philosophy of the Unit.

This is mainly working with in-patients, but may also be with-out patients and day patients.

Job Summary:

  • To provide evidence-based mental health and systemic psychotherapy services across hospital wards.
  • To provide systemic assessments, treatment and consultation to client systems including children, young people, their families, carers and professional networks.
  • Manage, plan and prioritise own clinical caseload under supervision.
  • To work collaboratively with the Multi-disciplinary team to develop and improve the work of the service and hospital.
  • Continue in the development of self both personally and professionally.
  • Contribute towards development and support of colleagues.
