We have an exciting opportunity for a first assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at the Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre.

We offer a range of treatments and also provide diagnostic services, using the latest MRI, ultrasound and plain film x-ray technology.
A recent CQC inspection showed that patients are positive about their experience and that staff were focused on providing care and effective treatment and support to patients.
As a registered Nurse or operating department practitioner you will be expected to provide skilled assistance under the supervision of a consultant surgeon. You will also be expected to participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care, working as a pro-active, effective and efficient member of the multidisciplinary team. The participation in the provision of teaching, assessment and development opportunities for other members of the surgical team is also expected.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Relevant theatre experience as a scrub and advanced scrub practitioner
• Knowledge of current research, key issues and development in theatre practice
• Knowledge of Health & Safety/Risk
• NMC registered Nurse part 1 or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
• Qualification as Advanced Scrub Practitioner or equivalent
