Job Description

Healthcare Assistant Job on the Isle of Wight

Our expert healthcare team on the Island is growing as clients experience the difference that the Newcross standard of care can make. We recently launched our new, bigger Isle of Wight branch on Quay Street in Newport and we’re now recruiting for experienced care assistants and nurses who share our commitment to excellence in care.

Unlike an agency, we focus on nurturing and rewarding great members of staff. At Newcross, we offer permanent jobs with all the flexibility to maintain a work / life balance. Enjoy a permanent contract, guaranteed house and free training with Newcross.

As a naturally compassionate person, you will play an essential part in delivering great quality, person-centred care to every individual you encounter. This means recognising the capabilities of the person, promoting their dignity at all times and seeing them as more than just a care plan.

If you’re looking for flexible day, night or weekend shifts and the chance to choose your own rota with the added support of a permanent contract, guaranteed hours and a local line manager, this is the job for you!

Benefits of joining Newcross as a Care Assistant:

  • Salary of up to £11.85/hr, paid weekly plus bank holiday enhancements
  • Free uniform & training through credits earned as you work
  • Agreed mileage payments for most clients
  • Criminal record check (DBS) cost refunded after initial period
  • Online area and smartphone app to manage your availability, bookings and payslips
  • 24-hour support contact centre, open 365 days a year
  • Recommend a Friend scheme paying up to £500 per successful referral

In order to be considered for this care assistant job you will need the following:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a care or nursing home in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care highly preferable
  • A certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course in the last 12 months or willing to book onto a Newcross course.
