An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Head of Nursing and Quality within the Specialised Services Division based at Wrightington Hospital. We are looking for a highly professional, credible and skilled senior nurse with a track record of delivering service improvement, innovation and to support our journey to deliver the strategic aim of the Trust.

This post will be expected to deputise for the Divisional Director of Operations and is a key role in the Senior Corporate Nursing Team.

Your remit will include the provision of both operational and strategic leadership across the division, working closely with the Divisional Management Team.

As Divisional Head of Nursing and Quality you will be:
• Responsible for ensuring delivery of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy
• Responsible for ensuring delivery of the Patient Experience Strategy.
• Responsible for ensuring all local and national Quality principles are embedded in practice.
• Lead the delivery of the Governance Agenda in conjunction with the Divisional Medical Director
• Lead for education and workforce planning across the division.
• Responsible for the development and planning of effective, economic care pathways that provide essential quality care in an appropriate time frame and discharge to a safe environment.
• Professional lead for all the Divisional nurses, support workers and allied health professionals.
• Participate in Trust Duty Manager rota.

Specialised Services is a diverse division and as such the successful candidate will be responsible for the following clinical specialities which are located across a range of sites within the Trust:
Elective Orthopaedics
Rheumatology Services
Trauma Orthopaedics (inc fracture clinic)
Outpatient Services
Cancer Services
