Are you an experienced Health Care Assistant looking for a new challenge? We are looking for fantastic HCA’s, for our Cygnet Hospital Taunton which is a 46 bed hospital and part of the UK's leading mental health care provider.
Cygnet Hospital Taunton is divided into five, gender specific units, where we are able to provide specialist complex care for older people with organic and / or functional mental health needs and also holistically supporting their presenting physical health needs.
We are located in a picturesque rural setting on the outskirts of Taunton – the county town of Somerset. Taunton is well served by a mainline train service (London to Penzance) and a 10 minute drive from junction 25 of the M5 motorway.
If you have a passion for working with older adults then this role may be for you as we are looking for enthusiastic Health Care Assistants. Successful candidates will be motivated and have a good awareness of security and health and safety and able to work in this unique and sometimes challenging, yet rewarding environment. Assisting service-users in activities of daily living, including personal care, facilitate Section 17 leave and carry out regular observations.
Experience of care work in a mental health setting is desirable, however, not essential as training will be given as enrolment in the diploma in Health and Social Care is requirement in our hospital environment.
You will be able to work well as part of a team to support the qualified nurses to promote the independence of our service-users with care and comfort, meeting their individual needs by working within a tailored care plan for each service-user. You will also need to be flexible, as our shift rota is based on long days, nights and alternate weekends.
