Our vacancy The Virgin Care Health Visiting service offers every family the NHS universal health visiting service which aims to support them with all aspects of their child’s development and family’s health from pregnancy until their child is 5 years of age in the region of Exeter Our health visiting teams have a range of skill mix to support development and to enable you to deliver and excellent service locally.
Virgin Care offers our Health Visitors fantastic opportunities to further develop their career and we offer newly qualified Health Visitors excellent preceptorship, mentorship and supervision. The role will also involve:

  • Assessment of health needs to develop, implement and evaluate packages of care
  • Operating as a specialist practitioner
  • Team leadership
  • Understanding and improving upon current nursing and public health issues across the relevant health services in your remit
  • Showing a clear understanding of and contributing to integrated and multidisciplinary working

You The essential qualities we are looking for in our Health Visitor applicants are:

  • Motivation, adaptability and innovation
  • Understanding the leadership role within skill mix teams
  • Assertive and collaborative
  • Ability to effectively manage self, workload and others
  • SCPHN qualification
  • Qualified nurse prescriber
  • Mentor preparation, ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Previous Health Visitor experience is not necessary but along with management experience within a healthcare setting, it would be advantageous
