Are you looking for more flexible working hours?

Athona Recruitment are seeking healthcare assistants to work on an agency basis in Guildford, Surrey for a prestigious NHS hospital. This position will be ad-hoc work which means you can choose the dates and times that you would like to work with full flexibility. We have general wards along with A&E, HDU and theatres.

Your duties will include the following:

  • Washing and dressing
  • Feeding
  • Helping people to mobilise
  • Toileting
  • Bed making
  • Generally assisting with patients' overall comfort
  • Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
  • Full time, part time and locum shifts are available.
  • About the hospital

The hospital is situated in the heart of Guildford, approximately 15 minutes from the train station and is a leading general hospital and specialist centre for cancer services and treatment. The hospital serves a population of 320,000 for emergency and general hospital services and 1.3 million people for cancer services across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.

The Trust is also a centre of excellence and training for minimal access surgery and a leading research and development bringing advanced treatments to local people.

  • The qualities we are looking for in applicants are
  • Relevant UK experience working in a similar position, preferably working in hospitals.
  • Knowledge in the following; Health and Safety, Basic Life Support and Manual Handling, certification dated within the last year
  • A clear, in-date DBS

Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
Applicants must be capable of rising to the challenge of working in new ways and willing to practice autonomously within a busy hands-on environment. You will be supported by, and work with, a diverse multi-skilled experienced professional team of clinical and non-clinical friendly staff.
