Healthcare Assistant Scarborough -Open Day - Monday 31st October

Job Description

Please note that contact with applicants will usually be by email, and so please check all of your mail folders regularly (unfortunately some providers filter our messages into junk mail folders).

Do you share our values? We’re looking for applications from people who:

  • care about what they do;
  • respect and value others;
  • listen in order to improve; and
  • always do what they can to be helpful

…to help make us a valued and trusted partner within our care system, that delivers safe effective care to our local population.

Are you interested in becoming a Healthcare Assistant?
Do you have a desire to deliver first class patient care?
Are you compassionate, reliable, motivated and ready for a challenge?
If so, we would like to invite you to our mandatory pre-application open day.

Please note that only candidates who have attended an open day will be eligible to apply for our Healthcare Assistant vacancies. If you are interested in applying, please call to book your space. Spaces are limited and will be taken quickly.  ( Phone number removed )

We will introduce you to the life of a Healthcare Assistant at the Trust, and you will be able to chat to our current staff, ask them questions and discover more about the many benefits of working for the Trust. Following the session you will be able to decide if being a Healthcare Assistant is right for you. Our recruitment team will also be available to provide support and advice in relation to completing your application and preparing for interview.

The open days are part of a campaign to recruit Healthcare Assistants for Scarborough and Bridlington hospitals, as well as for the Trust's other community hospitals and rehabilitation units across North Yorkshire. After attending the open day, you will be able to complete an application form and indicate the areas where you would like to work as part of your application form.

We would ask you to arrive promptly as unfortunately we cannot admit anyone after the advertised start time.

The Open Day will start at 1030am. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the event start as the Haldane Ward can not accomodate large numbers of people in the waiting area.

You will not be required to bring any items of documentation, and there is no dress code for the event. We anticipate that the event will last up to 15 hours.

If you have attended an Open Day in the last 6 months you do not need to re-attend: instead, please telephone the Recruitment Team to be directed to the application form.

As a member of our team, you’ll have access to one of the most generous and comprehensive pension schemes in the UK, 27 days annual leave (on top of Bank Holidays) and an award-winning package of staff benefits, more details of which can be found by clicking on the ‘Award-winning staff benefits' link. In addition, we pay the national living wage for all non-training roles, which means that in this job you will be paid above the bottom point of the Band 2 payscale following satisfactory completion of a standard probationary period.

Additional notes
Please note we do not accept applications to the Nurse Bank through this process. If you are interested in bank work, please look for adverts specifically for the Nurse Bank.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
