Job Description

As part of a substantial investment by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in the Healthy Children Programme, we are delighted to be able to offer new posts of Children and Families Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker in East Dunbartonshire CHP. The aim of the Healthy Children Programme is to ensure a consistent and comprehensive delivery of planning and service change arrangements proposed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to update the screening and surveillance requirements for children and young people as detailed within CEL 15(2010) Refresh of Health for All Children (Hall 4). NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is committed to providing children with the best possible start in life in line with the key ambition and aims of the Early Years Collaborative set out by the Scottish Government through dynamic and dedicated skill mixed Children and Families teams working together. You will work as part of a skill mixed Children and Families team alongside Health Visitors; Staff Nurses; Nursery Nurses and will report to a Children and Families Team Leader. You will hold and SVQ3 in Healthcare (or will have equivalent experience) and will support the Health Visiting team to provide an accessible, appropriate, culturally sensitive, safe, person centred and effective service for children, young people and families in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. The work will be facilitated, supervised and supported by the Health Visiting team. Excellent communication and organisational skills along with the ability to work as part of a team are essential as is the ability to work using your own initiative without direct supervision. You will be able to demonstrate the required skills and qualifications in addition to a desire to make a positive difference through practice contribution. A working knowledge of IT systems is also desirable. This is a permanent post with part time hours (2625) and you will work these hours between Monday to Friday 830am to 430pm.
